Wow, what a weekend! There is this unspeakable joy in me right now. I can't explain how great the Lord is. He is indeed soo faithful. I was reminded of the last retreat, things that were lifted up in prayers since then, people lifted up to the Lord, oh, and how great is He who answers prayers!!! I've have seen His wonder, His movings among people, His love pour down like an overflowing flood of water, chains being broken, people being set free, and all I can say is, I want more...

i can't believe it. its only been four days, and i am stressed out by the things i have to accomplish. I am drained. i've been spending 12 hours a day at school, attending classes and researching for a essay proposal that is due next week. My teacher wants specific things, which makes it even harder to find. I am sooo drained by all the crap i have to read. Also, i found out about the heavy load for my weekly class: 13 classes in total: 8 books to read and like 4 movies to watch, meaning a novel a week must be read by the beginning of every class. isn't that insane? alfjda;kfjkdfja;dkfja. ~translation: asdl;fkja;ldskjfa;djfak;dfj. on top of that, its a busy month for ACF planning as well. ahhhhh....
oh yeah, sonja and I will be sharing about china this friday night, so if anyone wants to hear about it *ahem* (people from toronto, queens, mcmaster...), please do come...:)

Coming back from my mission trip this summer, I knew that there would be many changes this year in my life. Awaiting for these changes to come, I know that the Lord requires all of me, the me that is willing to give up the past, leaving my comfort zone and accepting the changes coming my way. However, when these changes have finally arrived, part of me resisted, in fear of letting go. Stepping into new territory, seeing the things around me change, looking into familiar faces and simultaneously feeling alienated from them, I, the outgoing girl can't help but feel a bit afraid. Very much afraid infact. How could the things that are once familiar to you become so barbaric, different, distant... If things that were once known to me can change in split of a second, turning into strange objects that is foreign to me, I can't help but wonder, what would happen to the things and people that are so dear to me now?

karyn, me, jesse
There are those whom the Lord puts in your life,
friendships centered in Jesus Christ.
I love you, my friends, because
of your heart, your care, your love
and your constant encouragements.
It is such a privilege to be able to meet you,
who shares my Spirit, my joy, my passion, my life.
My only prayer for you is this:
Never give up in loving, never lose sight of what is happening,
but love, the way you have loved me, and give to those whom you are called to.
Be encouraged today, for He is good, and His love endures forever.
Don't let him, the enemy, blow out your flame,
Keep on going, and take heed of the truth that HAS set you free,
and love, the way you have have loved me.

In the midst of emailing my brother, I was inspired to write a poem...again! sorry for all my readers who have to deal with these "spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings" (Wordsworth).
stress,
you thought you got me,
and I thought that I'll be,
but you have no control over me.
because He has set me free
so begone! For I am guaranteed
that He shall continue to deliver me.
stress free!!!
all by the grace of God! Thank you Lord!

essays,
I can't think of you without dismay.
why do you leave me to decay?
as I look into the screen,
confused, I waste away.
I sigh and say:
essays,
keep away,
and make way as I
fade away...
joy of being an English student.
As all the excitement surrounds me, I wonder: "Why don't I get one? Am I not cared for?" I tried comforting myself by saying: "I don't need one, I don't need to be cared for." or "maybe they forgot, its not their fault." Yet, i remain unsatisfied with my reply, something in my heart still yearns for their love, to be cared for. However, I shall retain myself and say nothing more.
Lord, if i love to be loved,
then i know nothing of Calvary love.
I can't think of you without dismay.

Flame Of God
From prayer that asks that I may be
Sheltered from winds that beat on Thee,
From fearing when I should aspire,
From faltering when I should climb higher
From silken self, O Captain, free
Thy soldier who would follow Thee.
From subtle love of softening things,
From easy choices, weakenings,
(Not thus are spirits fortified,
Not this way went the Crucified)
From all that dims Thy Calvary
O Lamb of God, deliver me.
Give me the love that leads the way,
The faith that nothing can dismay
The hope no disappointments tire,
The passion that will burn like fire;
Let me not sink to be a clod;
Make me Thy fuel, Flame of God.
~Amy Wilson Carmichael

By faith, I shall go on
because by His blood,
I am made anew.
I have entered the land, now I shall claim more.
For not yet am I satisfied,
and not yet will I compromise.
For greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world.
He shall sustain me, and by his blood,
i will persevere. And behold,
my brethrens, my joy and crown,
He who is faithful shall bring everything to pass.
Let us go on therefore, in standing firm by faith
and in fighting the good fight, claim the things which
are ALREADY given to us. By faith, WE shall go on.
For His promises shall never fail, all shall come to pass.
because by His blood,
I am made anew.
I have entered the land, now I shall claim more.

"A nerd indeed," says Sam.
a nerd as me
is inspired by Sidney.
so i shall quote
what he wrote,
and hope that it'll provoke
your excitement to read his poems.
As you read, I shall hope
that they'll do what they did to me:
strike where it hurts and hit home.
"Poetic images should have the power to strike, pierce, and possess the sight of the soul." ~Sir Philip Sidney. (edited by me)
Women Cell was good, I hope the Coffeehouse went well...*sigh*

I am stimulated by Garway's comment, so i decided to blog! Hiatus...ENDS!!!
So as some of may know, this year I have decided to be more involved at school. Why? Simply because i want to get to know more people. Part of being the new "me" means i need to step out and explore. I do have a heavy load this year, and plus being on the exec for ACF and Women Cell do not help lessen my heavy load. At first I thought i would join the newspaper screw since the opportunity came up, yet knowing my ability to write, i decided to wait till next year. Plus, it was not part of my plan anyways! Then i thought, i'll join the Globe: a club where i get to know more about the world around me, but everything started piling up so i decided against it. So i comforted myself by thinking that i would for sure join Get Lit (an English Club), which was something that I wanted to do since the beginning of the year. Even though my heart wants to explore and join more clubs, i know that it'll be best for me to devote myself to one club, Get Lit.
so what happens?
Well, Get Lit has been planning to have a coffeehouse since the end of September and i've been looking forward to it ever since. I was talking to Noah (one of my classmates) about it just tonight about the coffeehouse too. I was really looking forward to it: to meet new people, to do what the Lord has called me to do this year. but...
One ordinary day, Cora decides to check her email and finds out that Get Lit is having the coffeehouse on a Wednesday night, the same night that is scheduled for Women Cell. Joy! Lord, What do you want me to do?

I know, I am such a nerd..
but this is such a beautiful poem.
His name is George Herbert, and he is an AMAZING poet...this is the last poem he wrote before he died.
Love
Love bade me welcome: yet my soul drew back,
Guilty of dust and sin.
But quick-eyed Love, observing me grow slack
From my first entrance in,
Drew nearer to me, sweetly questioning
If I lacked anthing.
"A guest," I answered, "worthy to be here":
Love said, "You shall be he."
"I, the unkind, ungrateful? Ah, my dear,
I cannot look on thee."
Love took my hand, and smiling did reply,
"Who made the eyes but I?"
"Truth, Lord; but I have marred them; let my shame
Go where it doth deserve."
"And know you not," says Love, "who bore the blame?"
"My dear, then I will serve."
"You must sit down," says Love, "and taste my meat."
So I did sit and eat.
isn't it beautiful? wow!!! I hope i can write like that someday.
Yeah!! home for thanksgiving!!! I hope everyone will have a great week.....
